Dom Avelora is a luxury interior design studio based in Grand Rapids Michigan, built on the belief that a home should carry the weight of a story rather than the trend of a season. Founded by Amina out of her Bosnian roots and a design instinct she traces back to childhood, the studio specializes in European inspired interiors that layer architectural detail, natural materials, and vintage finds sourced from travels. Dom, meaning home in Bosnian, and Avelora, an extension of both her name and her husband's development company Avenro, reflect a studio built on heritage and craft.
Creative Direction:
As Amina's work matured, she wanted a brand that carried the same feeling, one rooted in her Bosnian heritage and her love for European antiques, architectural millwork, and organic materials. It reflects the transitional, timeless spaces she creates for clients who want their homes to feel gathered rather than staged.
For the identity, we built something architectural and antique in feeling. The primary mark centers on a kilim-patterned monogram, a nod to the textile traditions of Bosnia. We paired hand-lettered typefaces with Montserrat, giving the brand a mix of structure and warmth. A custom Bosnian lily illustration and fleur de lis quatrefoil appears throughout the identity as well. The palette includes cool, collected tones: navy, stonewash, sage, alabaster, quartzite, umber, and bronze.
